God’s natural instinct is to give. He proved that to us through the very best Gift this world has seen, or will ever see. When you accepted Christ as your Savior and Lord, His nature was imparted to you. Therefore, by nature, you are a giver.
Consider the six great benefits to being a generous giver:
1. Giving draws you closer to God. Matthew 6:21
2. Giving helps break the grip of materialism in your life. “We must refuse to buy into the myth that our lives are measured by how much I have and that my net worth and self-worth are directly related.” Rick Warren
3. Giving strengthens your faith to trust God for needed resources. Philippians 4:19
4. Giving is an investment for eternity. Matthew 6:19-21
5. Giving always blesses you in return. Proverbs 22:9
6. Giving increases your joy and gives you greater fulfillment in life. “Giving is a criterion for mental health, and generous people are rarely mentally ill.” Karl Menninger
